Experiences and good practices in the protection of victims of trafficking in human beings and prevention were the subject of a round table held today, Tuesday, in Rabat.
This three-day meeting is part of a series of round tables organised at regional level by the International Organization for Migration in partnership with the national committees to combat trafficking in human beings in Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia, coordinated by the National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons of the Arab Republic of Egypt, with financial support from the European Union. In an opening address, the Director of Criminal Affairs, Pardons and Crime Monitoring at the Ministry of Justice, Hicham Malati, explained that this round table was being held a few weeks after the Kingdom of Morocco adopted the National Plan to Combat and Prevent Trafficking in Human Beings 2023-2030 and the National Strategic Action Plan for Implementation 2023-2026, which sets out a unified vision and a reference roadmap for the response of the Kingdom of Morocco in combating and preventing trafficking in human beings, by defining strategic priorities and identifying measures and procedures for their implementation according to a participatory and integrated approach.
