Hicham Mellati, President of the National Commission for the Coordination of Measures to Combat and Prevent Trafficking in Human Beings, received Brian Marcus, Deputy Director of the US Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons.
The Deputy Director of the US Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, on a visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, was received on Wednesday 17 August 2022 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice by Hicham Mellati, Director of Criminal Affairs and Pardons and President of the National Commission for the Coordination of Measures to Combat and Prevent Trafficking in Human Beings, the Ministry of Justice stated in a press release.
The meeting was marked by the participation of a high-level delegation from the US Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons. The two parties agreed on the modalities of future collaboration and coordination between the two institutions, with a view to strengthening cooperation between Morocco and the USA in this field and ensuring technical support to the National Commission in the areas of victim identification, protection and referral.
The US delegation was briefed on the efforts made by Morocco since the establishment of the National Commission for better coordination of measures to combat and prevent trafficking in human beings.
